Unity on the Hardwood – SC is a 501c3 non-profit charity organization providing scholarships to deserving student athletes for academic support & donations to local high school’s girls’ and boys’ basketball programs in Columbia, South Carolina.
Unity on the Hardwood – SC is committed to ensure that young people reach their maximum potential as student athletes without succumbing to the financial burdens that may impede their growth in the sport they love.
Scholarship recipients are selected by a panel of community members and are awarded based upon the student athlete’s financial need, scholastic aptitude, athletic talent and athletic promise.
Recipients will also be those student athletes that embody the values of Unity on the Hardwood – SC:
· Academic Achievement.
· Athletic excellence through hard work.
· Embody values of sportsmanship
· Passion of their sport.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
Unity on the Hardwood – SC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Adrian and Artina Coard in 2023. Based in Columbia, South Carolina, our mission is to ensure that young people reach their maximum potential as student athletes without succumbing to the financial burdens that may impede their growth in the sport they love.
In November 2023, Unity on the Hardwood – SC made history by hosting the first-ever Alumni Basketball Game between Eau Claire and Columbia High at Glenforest School in West Columbia. The event was a massive success, completely selling out. Since then, we have continued to engage with our community through various initiatives, including Alumni games, providing scholarships, donations, and support for local basketball programs and community groups.
We are committed to uniting communities through the love of sport, providing opportunities for growth, and fostering a strong sense of connection and pride.
